The Glagolitic alphabet (/ ˌɡlæɡoʊˈlɪtᵻk /, also known as Glagolitsa) is the oldest known Slavic alphabet. It was created in the 9th century by Saint Cyril, a Byzantine monk from Thessaloniki.
